What revision of wxCommunicator are you using? The latest one doesn't compile with sip foundry sipxtapi anymore. You need to download experimental sipxtapi from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wxcommunicator/sipxtapi-9916-experimental-r101.tar.bz2?use_mirror=kent or http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wxcommunicator/sipxtapi-9916-experimental-r101-release.tar.bz2?use_mirror=kent . Try to compile this version and see whether dns lookup works.
