Title: RE: [Sisuite-users] Could not stat device /dev/hda: no such file or directory

The motherboard is a Tyan S2880 <http://www.tyan.com.tw/products/html/thunderk8s.html> running a WD1000 IDE hard drive, though I am not sure what the chipset is. As far as I can tell SATA is disabled, but I seem to be having the same problem on a normal Athlon system as well. Maybe it's to do with the initrd. All I can see atm is that /dev/hda to hdz (?) do not exist. There should be an hda and hdc in the Opteron machine (hard disk and CD-ROM) and an hda and hdd in the Athlon (again, HDD and CD-ROM). Would a MAKEDEV sort the problem? And if so how would I do this to the image (or would someone be able to do this for me)?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

I actually already forgot I had put stuff online on that site.
The initrd.img indeed throws some errors at you but if you don't use
those modules it works.

You don't mention what kind of harddisk/controller you have.

Have you tried building your own initrd.img , that includes modules for
your disk configuration ?
