  PRESS RELEASE
FuturArc magazine launched in eight Asian markets

BCI Asia Construction Information announces the launch of FuturArc, a new architecture magazine that will be the key source of information on innovative, progressive architectural practice and design for the Southeast Asian and Chinese architecture and building communities.

Tapping BCI Asia’s considerable information resources, FuturArc will cover projects as they appear on the drawing board, highlighting the very best of the future of architecture. The magazine will also look at recently completely projects to document how architectural vision is translated into reality.

“In addition to profiling the region’s best projects, we will talk to industry leaders around the world, highlight cutting-edge design concepts and technologies, and report on ground-breaking research to give building communities in the region the most up-to-date thinking in architectural design”, FuturArc editor Christen Jamar said.

At the core of the magazine’s mission is strong advocacy for responsible, sustainable design. "It is important to understand that architects play a huge role in our modern, increasingly urbanized society. With FuturArc we are encouraging architects, developers, and the manufacturers of building materials to create a more sustainable urban environment”, said Dr. Matthias Krups, BCI Asia’s chairman and FuturArc’s publisher.

The magazine is divided into two main editorial sections: one explores different elements of sustainable design; the second focuses on a particular area of architectural design. Upcoming issues will look at resource efficiency and health facilities; environmental footprint and residential buildings; and air quality and sports structures.

Highlights of FuturArc’s inaugural issue include: an in-depth examination of what architects around the world are thinking and doing about sustainability; a look at Macau, casino hotspot and one of Asia’s biggest construction sites; and profiles of recreational projects in the region and beyond.

FuturArc will be launched in the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam during BCI Asia’s influential Top 10 Awards. The awards will be attended by more than 1,000 of the region’s leading architects: in Jakarta at Nikko Hotel on 20 February; in Singapore at Hotel Intercontinental on 22 February; in Manila at Mandarin Oriental on 24 February; in Kuala Lumpur at Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel on 27 February; in Bangkok at The Landmark on 1 March; in Ho Chi Minh City at Park Hyatt Saigon on 3 March; in Hong Kong at Langham Place Hotel on 20 March; and in Beijing at Crowne Plaza Hotel on 23 March.
