You don't need foreground if the process you're executing is the long-lived one.

"fdmove 0 6" will redirect fd 6 to fd 0. "tcpclient -RHl0 -T1 127.0.0.1 25 fdmove 0 6 head -n 1" will do what you want. -- Laurent
