It has. From three days ago: "Select the partial first line in the column in the regular way, use the selection rectangle (option key) to select the full lines below it in the column, and then use regular selection to select the partial last line. Click the first partial line, shift-click the selected block under it, and then shift-click the final partial line. The three separate notes will be aggregated into one note." This works for any number of columns on a page, or text located out of the usual column locations, like figure legends or call-outs.
