Hi,

I recently noticed an amazing feature in Skim that I was unaware of
(didn't see it explained anywhere in the manual or wiki)

If you have a pdf file with hyperlinks (such as one created from a
LaTeX file using the hyperref package) then when you hover the cursor
over a link to another place in the file (e.g. an equation or
bibliographic reference), without clicking, then you a small window
appears showing the contents of the link (e.g. the equation or
bibliographic reference). This is a very nice feature since it can
avoid having to click and then hop back (which you could do with Cmd+
[ say). This way you can see the relevant material without jumping out
of the context, which is very useful in some cases.

But I have some questions regarding the way it works and its
consistency.

Sometimes I can't get the link to pull up the little preview window.
Other times the same link just works fine. I don't know if it is some
parameter or setting in the hover detection or what. It seems as if
Skim "checks out" of the link-preview mode and then at some point
checks back into it.

Is there any key-click combination that can substitute for it to be
able to guarantee a preview window showing? Or any other way to
guarantee getting this link-preview? I just love it and after
discovering would really want to use it intensively if I could.

-Ivan
