This may be worth a comment in the release notes. I downloaded the
Skim update earlier today and subsequently ran into a bit of trouble
with the cpu pegged at 100% by a combination of mdworker and ATSServer
processes (this on a 1.5 MHz G4 Powerbook, OSX 10.5.6; unaffected by
logout/login and a restart)--the machine was really dragging. A bit of
searching turned up similar problems for other people after
downloading large or large numbers of PDFs, associated with Spotlight
indexing those files, and I figured that Skim had probably triggered a
re-indexing of my PDFs. This tapered off after about 1.5 - 2 hr and
everything's fine now, but it might be worth warning people with
slower/older machines not to do the update in the middle of the workday.
