This is due to the fact that the text of a note is rich text and you  
passed plain text in the properties for the make command. And the  
current release does not do the automatic coercion, because Apple's  
AppleScript implementation (and its documentation) is an absolute  
mess. This is fixed in the next release.

You can work around this by setting the text of the new note  
separately rather than passing it in the properties.
