Yes, absolutely. I agree with you. In fact, it didn't strike me until I read
your message today -- is it even possible for an open source community to
develop, say, an application on Apple's iOS that is completely OSS based?
How would it be approved by Apple (or not)? Does Apple offer free
subscriptions to the iOS Developer Program for organized OSS communities?
More food for thought for sure ...

Very good points. Also, I hope I didn't come across as snobbish about the
iPad, etc. ... I think there's room for it in the world but indeed its not
for everyone. I also forgot that the iPad is not yet available worldwide.
Apple is making efforts to get the iPad into distribution in many countries
but indeed it takes a while to roll out (and so its important to remember
that Cupertino is not the center of the world, as Copernicus has taught us
otherwise)! Out of curiosity, what country are you located in?

That is quite disappointing. Hmm ... I wonder what it would take for them to
bring PDFKit to iOS? It seems they have brought so many other features to
iOS, how hard could it be? Especially since the iPad could make for an
excellent reading device.
Thank you for shedding some important light on this!
