Things really get more mysterious each time. I just went through EVERY change
made between 1.3.9 and 1.3.10, which was much easier than for 1.3.6->1.3.7 as
there are only about 45. My conclusion is that loading a PDF does not see ANY
of these changes, all these changes just affect (menu) actions you may take
later, after the document was opened (except for one change that should really
be harmless.)
So it really seems that the problem somehow occurs when the app is updated,
somewhere the system gets confused, perhaps due to the font cache, perhaps some
other cached system information.
So did you reload the 1.3.9 version from the website? And what if you download
1.3.10 from the website? Can you try resetting the font cache?
