I agree on all accounts. I made the patches because I needed the
features quickly (to publish solution sets to math quizzes), and after
playing for a bit with the code, the patches seemed pretty small and
simple (thanks for making the source easy to read!).

I'd rather not maintain a patched version of Skim---I'd rather that the
official version incorporated this functionality. However, if the
official version decides against this design, Git makes it easier to
maintain these patches using git-svn to track the svn head. Please be
aware that my small patches may possibly break other things horribly and
cause your house to fall in or something. There are definitely no
guarantees. They seem to work for me, though.

As for your two bug/features that were fixed recently, those things seem
to work well in full screen mode. You seem to indicate that you would
really like them in presentation mode as well, and indicate that for an
a4 document, you need to annotate it in presentation mode. Why does
full screen mode not work for an a4 document? In fact, things seem
nicer in full-screen mode since you can easily access the table of
contents, change annotation tools, etc.

As for having two versions of Skim, I just compiled my patched version
and called it Skim-tablet (just renamed the app). Then I dragged it to
my applications folder and things seem to work well (I can use either
version just fine, and I can use them simultaneously, even). I don't
know how it will work with auto-updates and things like that, though.

Thanks,

Jason
