When you can select the text, it's not an image, otherwise it is (if you're
using the text tool mode). For the rest there can be many reasons why file
sizes differ, though often it's because it contains (large) bitmaps, such as
scanned text. Also encryption (which may be without password) can have
influence on file size and printing performance.
