Christiaan,

Background

Release notes indicate:

1.3.18 "Fix OpenMeta tags support."
1.2 "Some initial support for Open Meta tags. Readable by
ApppleScript and saved with Save As and Export as PDF."

Having briefly inspected SVN Source, I note some treatment for Open Meta Tags
and Ratings in the info pane, but these are hidden.

When I SAVE AS PDF, or EXPORT AS PDF, I observe that nothing is ADDED to the
kMDItemOMUserTags.

( I understand that Skim writes annotations into Extended Attributes, so I
thought Skim was now also saving something into kMDItemOMUserTags. Since this
does appear to be the case, that is fine. )

Problem

When I SAVE AS PDF, or EXPORT AS PDF, I observe that the newly generated PDF
does not have the kMDItemOMUserTags

Questions

Is there a hidden preference to make READ-ONLY Open Meta tags & ratings a
visible part of the info pane?
What is the 'initially supported' method for reading Open Meta tags by
AppleScript?
Why does SKIM not (in my tests) preserve Open Meta EAs (e.g. existing tags)
when a document is saved using SAVE AS or EXPORT AS PDF?

I looked all over the wiki and lists for answers to these questions, but found
nothing.

Please clarify the extent of support for Open Meta tags and how Skim treats
Open Meta tags.
