Just saw this video about PDFoo which let's you create deep links to PDF
content in a number of ways - very cool. I've done a tiny bit of this
myself, by creating a "fake" skim URL (wrapping an AppleScript with a plist
that assigns that URL, and then launching a Ruby script), which lets me
open Skim with a PDF on a random page given the URL, and I have a script
that rewrites the text annotations output with these links (see examples
and screencasts here: http://reganmian.net/wiki/researchr:start), but I
don't have the option of linking directly to an annotation for example...
What PDFoo is doing is really cool - but it's a proprietary program, and it
doesn't have AppleScript support, so in that sense, it's useless to me.
Would love to see some new features in Skim inspired by this though!
