Sounds like a possible solution. But: I tried
defaults write net.sourceforge.skim-app.skim SKUseNormalLevelForPresentation
-boolean true
but the behavior of the presentation-mode seems to be unchanged.

I see that we disable process switching during presentation. I’ll enable that
when using the normal window level.
