Archie,

I tried to install skip in the 2nd system and I get identical error 
message!!

It is very weird that you have not seen this error before...If the ports 
installation in FreeBSD was not as trivial I would say that I am doing 
something terribly wrong (which would not be at all unusual :) but in 
this case???

Please let me know if you need any more info in order to trace the 
problem.

->BTW this system also has the correct version of protosw.h
