Hi all,

this is a question that is asked now and then, and I think it is time again
to take a clear position in regard to it. I am working for Sun Microsystems
in the US, and have thus discontinued direct development and involvement
with ENskip, because I do not want ENskip to be contaminated by US export
control -- ever.

My former group at ETH is not currently using or progressing ENskip in any
way, this might change in the future... Sun is happily selling SKIP
products, and that is probably the extent of it. (This is of course my
personal opinion on both accounts).

But this does not at all mean that SKIP (ENskip) is dead. ENskip is now free
software. Out there, people are using it, working with it and on it. The
best way to find them is to use the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list. (See
www.skip.org for subscription info). Whatever patches and updates are sent
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] will gladly be made available on
http://www.tik.ee.ethz.ch/~skip, just to have a central place where people
can jump in.

You may all want to check out the IKE (IETF security standard to be), and
decide for yourself whether SKIP or IKE (and availability and usability of
software for the two) is more after your taste...

ENskip depends on you all out there. Use it or loose it ;-)
