You are aware that the existing 5 years Foreign Trade Policy (2004-09) will be
completing its term and a new 5 years Policy 2009-14 would be in operation.
Accordingly, DGFT Office has initiated actions for giving new dimensions to
Foreign Trade Policy as per the requirement of trade and industry in future to
not only increases the growth in exports but also to give a boost to employment
generation through additional economic activity.
To enable us to make this exercise fruitful, we would like to have your valued
suggestions on the Foreign Trade Policy and Procedures so that we can prepare a
comprehensive Memorandum for submission to the Government for consideration
while finalizing and releasing the new Foreign Trade Policy. Your valuable
suggestions will provide inputs to the Government for enhancing export
competitiveness and reducing the transaction cost/time, with a view to increase
India's share in the international trade.
We, would, therefore, request you to kindly send us your valuable points and
suggestions with justification in the given format latest by 28th November,
