Hi Tony and list! Correction. Voicemail has been a part of Skype for quite a while, even before there was such a thing as Skype pro. I believe it was added in 2.0, and has always worked the same way. I am a voicemail subscriber which gives me the right to leave voicemail for anyone, regardless of whether they are voicemail subscribers or not. Anyone can leave voicemail for me whether they subscribe or not because I have paid for that service. Only those who have subscribed to voicemail can record a personalised greeting which callers will hear. If you leave voicemail for someone who either haven't subscribed or may have subscribed but have elected not to take advantage of the service to the extent that they have recorded a personalised greeting, you only hear a standard canned message that Skype puts in place as a default. It is the same woman that you hear when you ring the Skype testing service. She says the person you are trying to reach is not available. Anyway, that is the full story on how it works so long as voicemail has been a part of Skype when another application hasn't been required to enjoy voicemail convenience.
