basically you copy default.jsb in the shared folder to
default_fs.jsb in the user folder.

so
start > all programs > jaws 9 > explore jaws > explore shared settings
find default.jsb
copy it and paist it. on xp you will now have a file called copy of
default.jsb
find this file and cut it to the clipboard
close the explorer window.
now
start > all programs > jaws 9 > explore JAWS > explore my setting
paste the file.
rename it to default_fs.jsb.

Subject: Re: [Skypeenglish] the SkypeWatch feature and a problem in Skype.

Hello all on this list, this is Gary here. I would
like to give the SkypeWatch feature a try in JAWS
version 9.

I have been on Dug Lee's website, I can understand the
procedure to install it, but there is one part I
cannot get my head round, the maintenance part of it.
I can do the second step, unload JAWS and re-start it.
It's the first step in the maintenance part I don't
get: copy default.jsb in the shared folder to
default_fs.jsb in the user folder. I would really
appreciate it if someone could get back to me on this
one.

Many thanks for all your help.

Also still on the subject of Skype, please could
anyone tell me if they are experiencing this problem
like I am:

You know when you answer a Skype call, you are placed
in the Skype window meaning the window that says Skype
followed by your Skype name. I tend to leave my
computer alone in the Skype window when I am talking.
This works fine in a single call, I don't have any
problems.

However if anybody starts a conference call and I
leave the Skype window open, my JAWS is coming up with
an error message telling me that the application file
has encountered a problem and needs to close. It is
only in Skype and only in a conference call with the
Skype window in focus. Any ideas would be really
appreciated because this is driving me round the bend!
My friend John Haill doesn't have this problem, nor
do a number of other people in my contacts I have
spoken to.

Kind regards.

Gary Price.
