Hi The way I understand it is that fring is a program through wich you can use a veriaty of voip and im aplications. When I tried skype directly on my phone, talks did not speak with it. I then installed fring and can make a fring call to my skype contacts. Talks speaks with it. The only thing is that you can not read instant messages with talks. I don't know if it is because they use java, or what. Fring is, I think a good way for us talks users to be able to use skype or any of the programs they offer via fring. I hope I explained it okay.
