First of all, Skype 2.5 is pretty old. If you're using Skype 2.5 with scripts, make sure the scripts you're using support Skype 2.5. To check this, you can go to http://www.dlee.org/skype, follow the link for your Skype version, and see if your script version is listed there. Depending how old your scripts are, JAWSKey+Q might tell you the script revision number after saying the normal information for that command.
The rest of this message is my stab at other possible causes for your problems. I know of the following possible causes and solutions for this: 1. You accidentally turned Screen Echo to All. Type JAWSKey+S until JAWS says "highlighted." If this requires two presses, this was probably the problem. If it requires three, it was not. 2. You added a custom highlight color that happens to mess up JAWS' understanding of the Skype screen. Try removing it. 3. You changed screen resolution and/or color depth without a reboot. Restart your machine to see if the problem goes away. 4. You changed Windows appearance and/or themes and thus changed the color of much of the screen. Try reverting to normal colors. This is all off the top of my head. Obviously, and I'm sure unfortunately, this problem has quite a number of possible causes.
