Hi Yvonne,
the emoticons are some graphic symbols which represent some faces and/or
images such as smiles and kisses. In MSN Messenger, JAWS will read the
emoticons in a chat assuming they're not checked. Someone some days ago
asked how to make these read in Skype. The italian translator managed to do
that for scripts revision 618 translated, I guess he copied the emoticons
available in MSN Messenger.jdf but I can ask him more exactly. He also added
a function which letted you search for the Skype emoticons in his own home
page, it was sufficient to press ctrl+shift+m while in Skype. The unique
difference with MSN Messenger was that here it was not sufficient to press
enter on an emoticon, you had to copy it from the web page and paste it in
the chat.
[The only reason I talk in the past is that he added another function which
I did not like, so now I'm using version 653 original.]
Bye!
Barbuz
