I think we solved it! There is an updated Skype.jdf at my web site, under the Other Downloads link at http://www.dlee.org/skype .
I have re-added the three lines I took out and made them work properly, at least according to my tests, by manually doubling the asterisks in each entry. I also corrected a minor formatting error introduced by the fact that Gordan and I both used Notepad to create and update the file, but that formatting issue seemed not to affect JAWS adversely anyway. The updated dictionary should work with all JAWS versions, should translate the "kiss" entries correctly, and should not translate colons and other things improperly anymore. Please report any further issues here.
