Hi,
I've had this problem in the past and the issue was solved for me by
unloading Skype read with pressing Alt+F1. Then I launched the
program again and for whatever reason it was fully functional.
I also had problems besides it not mentioning my name with it only
reading the functions. It would say: "is on line" or it might say, "is away".
It would not associate a persons name with the function.
Once I exited and then launched again everything worked.
I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it did for me.
