Hi to all!
And there's more! What Doug didn't tell you in his post is that Skype 
scripts now has a dialog box for choosing emoticons. It uses MSN shortcut 
CTRL + Shift + M to bring this dialog box into focus and you can browse with 
up and down arrow to select the emoticon you wish to send. Pressing Enter on 
selected emoticon closes the dialog box and pastes the character string on 
cursor position in chat edit box so you just need to press Enter once more 
to send the message.
Thanks to Maya and some friend of hers (I don't know his/her name), some of 
my tuning up and Doug's final magic touch, this is now possible.
