This of course is a subjective matter. however you should consider the following. The audio codec that Skype is using in version 4.0 requires far less bandwidth. It also requires less CPU resources. So this in itself is a good reason to upgrade. the best thing to do is give it a try. If you find you don't like it you can always downgrade to Skype version 3.8. I hope that this helps.
