I discovered late Wednesday that this can happen if you unload JAWS and then load a different one, or more rarely, the same one, while Skype is still running. Shut down Skype and start it again and it will work fine. Skype is aware of this issue, and I believe it will be fixed. It only seems to affect people that unload JAWS while Skype is running though.
