Hi,
first of all, check the volume settings under Control Panel, Sounds and
audio devices, and adjust in sufficient volumes. Then go to Skype audio
settings and try to disable the "Let Skype adjust my microphone seggings". I
had same troubles with Skype 3.8 or (or maybe it was even 3.5 or 6), and
Windows XP home.
