you have to learn the differences and accept that there is some
sacrafice
too, such as monitoring file transfer percentage. Yes, I know
you can still
get that info, but not readily.

I hate it as it's old. But it does work nicely on older
operating
systems which I use virtually. The only thing I like about 3.8
is the
file transfer, but that's all. Using 4.2 now and I manage very
well with
Hrvoje's Skype Talking and Doug's scripts.

the most usable skype is 3.8 uninstall 4.x, in my opinion, it's
junk!
3.8 is much better, stable, and works.

Anybody how to get my function keys to work in skype?? I thought
I'd hit
jaws key and f1 etc doesn't work just says jaws functions not

I apologize in advance if this has alread been recommended, but
I
do not
remember exactly.
First of all, a huge thanks to Gianluca Apollaro who gave me
this
info.
Coming to the point, if you see that your CPU gets very slow in
Skype
4.2
usage, especially in scrolling on the contact list, it's
strongly
recommended that you first go to Contacts / Hide contacts that
are
submenu,
and check all the voices here. Meaning, re-open this menu and
press
enter on
each voice till all are checked. This helped me a lot to fix
that
problem,
which at first attempt caused me to downgrade to 4.1.
