It is called now compact view in version 4.2. Go find it under view
menu, but be careful, if you are not already in compact view, what
you'll find there is an item called default view, press enter on it, the
menu will close. Go back to the same menu, you'll find that default is
replaced by compact. You'll now be able to get seperate windows for your
activities on skype such as chats and active calls...
Another thing you should configure before using skype. Under
tools/accessibility, press enter on the item that says extended keyboard
navigation if your screen reader doesn't say that it is checked already.

Yeah I was just about to suggest that. download the latest version of skype
and uncheck the box to install the toolbars and extras if you don't use them.
Skype 4 has a much better interface and it works really really well!

A few days ago, it was necessary to do some repairs to my computer and after
reinstalling Windows, some of my programs were missing.
I was able to install Skype Version 3.8 yesterday and although I retrieved
all my contacts and phone numbers, when I try to call one of my skypeout
numbers I cannot hear the numbers but an unknown function which is as
follows:
unknown function xlhashsetupitem.
How do I fix this. All the contacts have one number but one person has
three numbers and this can cause a difficulty.
Any advice would be welcome. How do the newer versions work?
