hi, actually no I don't know how ms drops the ball. what I know is that ms
works closely with gw micro fs and nv access to resolve and improve
accessibility. I also know ms intends to have all microsoft products use
UIA so I would think this will now include skype or what ever derivative of
it is produced in fewture. I also know the nv access prodject received a
grant from Microsoft to support UIA and other Microsoft products. I know
that there have been bugs in accessibility but I also know Microsoft works
hard to resolve them as soon as they can. this is also true of the skype
team and doug I am sure knows far more about that then I. so the way I see
it this is going to only help accessibility where skype is conserned. oh
this is just a guess but now that skype is a microsoft product it will
provably be maid to work with wsr so you will have voice commands for skype
built in to the windows operating system.
now here is hoping for windows phone 7 access soon. ok now the Microsoft
fan boy will get off his soap box smile.

You bring up some good points there. and pestering them does not work. I've
been involved to make toher programs accessibil for us and even pointed
them to some development linsk but they keep giving the same excuse. I guess
we'll have to wait for both windows and mac. Who knows the chanes already
might have taken effect.

sorry come on think about the remarks we are making here. microsoft
bought skype to improve on there own products. so now that skype is one
of there own products they are not going to degrade the quality of the
product. they will put more r&d in to skype so they can improve on what
they invested there money in. so there is no way the audio quality of
skype is going to degraid. this is a needless worry.

consider that Windows Live Messenger has an horrible audio quality
compared
to Skype. Let's hope the acquirement won't make Skypes audio quality
lower.
