I always advocate to uninstall in case any settings during update have gotten corrupt. I’ve seen this happen and I’ve seen updates turn systems in to paper weights. Not fun at all. soI always uninstall the old and install the new from scratch even if that means redoing my settings. Note that I’ve seen this behavior more on a windows machine.
