I don't think the source download link is downloading the source. Try
this:
https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/13330/inkscape-0.92.4.tar.bz2
You will need to remove the $PRGSUB part of the tar command line in
the slackbuild for it to work though.

Thank you for the link. I do not know what has gone on there with that
SBo build package, or why the PRGSUB addition etc. I will try compile it
later.
