Jude, not everybody in this list knows that spi is a front end to slapt-get and
slapt-src (somehow similar to slackpkg and sbopkg respectively).
In this case you probably got this package:

built by George using the SlackBuild available @ SBo.
Anyway...
I get the same error in Slint.
@ All: does it occur also in a genuine Slackware 15.0?
On genuine Slackware64 15.0:
chris@d8:~$ ddgr mdns
[ERROR] HTTP Error 403: Forbidden
No results.
ddgr (? for help)
but:
chris@d8:~$ ddgr --unsafe mdns
gives lots of results.
