I planned that for a long time, so it would be cool if you maintained it!
I also use Ponce's SlackBuild, but without vendored tarball - something
I don't have yet time to get my hands on ;-)
BTW, for now I stick to version 1.11.1, because newer versions cause me
issues.
(For example, executable files cannot be executed, sometimes it hangs
when browsing directories.)
