Thanks for the tip - I'm going to comment and link WEB-983. However I'm not subscribed to any individual post, thread or discussion. I'm only subscribed to individual users (about 70 users, both Linden and normal users).
I'm getting a notification even when their articles get a comment from users I'm not subscribed to. I don't think this is the expected behaviour. I'm getting notifications also when they update their articles, and maybe this is the expected behaviour, BUT - I think this should be optional: new blog posts and new comments are supposed to be more interesting than an update to existing content; if the existing content is heavily updated, the author could add a comment. In this scenario, there is no need to notify users every time the article is updated. -- opensource obscure On Wed, 22 Apr 2009 13:13:43 -0400, Dante Tucker <[email protected]> wrote: > Blue's first comment on WEB-983 should help people getting flooded at the > moment. > ".....In the meantime, you can go to the individual post you've commented > to > and click Stop Email Notification in the Action bar on the left." > > On Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 8:06 AM, Opensource Obscure > <[email protected]>wrote: > >> >> I just updated http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1038 >> where I report two problems I'm seeing in the way >> official blogs manage email notifications right now. >> >> Hopefully I didn't create a duplicate - if you're >> aware of other similar tickets please tell me. >> >> Basically, I think that by default notifications >> - should NOT get sent when an existing post is simply updated >> - should NOT get sent when a post is commented by someone >> I'm not subscribed to >> >> I'm pretty sure I'm receiving both these kinds of >> notifications right now, and they're way too much emails. >> >> >> Could someone please test this, and comment/vote on >> http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1038 ? >> >> Opensource Obscure >> _______________________________________________ >> Policies and (un)subscribe information available here: >> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SLDev >> Please read the policies before posting to keep unmoderated posting >> privileges >> _______________________________________________ Policies and (un)subscribe information available here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SLDev Please read the policies before posting to keep unmoderated posting privileges
