Hi Rob, I'm still having the same circular reference problem with this latest linux build. Here's what's left of the error message that didn't scroll off my xterm:
64-bit Linux detected: Disabling GStreamer (streaming video and music) by default; edit ./snowglobe to re-enable. Running from /home/dt/Secondlife/Snowglobe-i686-1.0.1.2446 bin/snowglobe-do-not-run-directly: error while loading shared libraries: libuuid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory *** Bad shutdown. *** You are running the Second Life Viewer on a x86_64 platform. The most common problems when launching the Viewer (particularly 'bin/snowglobe-do-not-run-directly: not found' and 'error while loading shared libraries') may be solved by installing your Linux distribution's 32-bit compatibility packages. For example, on Ubuntu and other Debian-based Linuxes you might run: $ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk ia32-libs-kde ia32-libs-sdl ******************************************************* This is a BETA release of the Second Life linux client. Thank you for testing! Please see README-linux.txt before reporting problems. And here is the file: ~/Secondlife/Snowglobe/lib$ ls -al libuuid.so.1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 dt dt 12 2009-06-19 03:54 libuuid.so.1 -> libuuid.so.1 As you can see it is a symbolic link that points to itself. Once again, deleting this link and copying the libuuid.so.1 from the latest production viewer solves the problem.
