Great info!
I've added some brief documentation on the control-name tag to
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/UI_Widgets and
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Skinning_HowTo/Common_XUI_XML_parameters
Once the Advanced>XUI->Load from XML control is working again, this will
allow designers to control all sorts of thing without programming.
Thanks Mike!

There is a function "XUI->Load from XML..." in the Advanced menu that
allows you to load a floater from an XML file. It is currently
broken, but is easily patched. I've been helping Admiral Admiral with
an XUI project. I can ask him to post the patch for "Load from
XML..." if anyone is interested.
He's adding more documentation on the XML elements and attributes.
See
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Skinning_HowTo/Basics#Related_to_layout
for links to the detailed documentation. It's still a
work-in-progress, but the outline is there. There are a *lot* of
attributes.

This is extremely powerful and should let you create your custom
panel to control any of the boolean or real valued settings that you
see in the debug settings floater. The only thing really missing here
(other than support for more control types) is the ability to launch
a custom floater. Ideally that would come with the badly needed
keyboard remapping functionality to allow you to specify a hot key to
load a named floater. (Hint: Great Snowglobe feature here!) Since we
don't have that yet, you'd probably have to append your controls to
some existing floater if you want to add controls without
programming, but that shouldn't be too awful.
