Seems like an interesting change. Is the new first image packet supposed to contain 1024 bytes of texture data instead of 600? My guess is this isn't backwards compatible with the standard viewers also.
If the above statements are true, then OpenSimulator won't be able to support it unless there is viewer version tracking in the UDP stack. Currently, it treats all viewers the same regardless of version. I suppose the only place that it can get this information is from the login service as well. Maybe a new part of the AgentCircuit data is warranted to keep this information propagated on sim crossings. Let me know and I'll pass this info on to the opensim-dev e-mail list Regards Teravus On Sat, Aug 1, 2009 at 3:16 PM, Armin Weatherwax<[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > I opened http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SNOW-157, because of almost > no textures show up logging on OpenSim (0.6.5; Debian Lenny). > My assumption is that is caused by the change of the > TEXTURE_CACHE_ENTRY_SIZE from 600 to 1024 bytes in Changeset 2486. > But I'm not actually into the texture cache and also not into whether or > not a OpenSim should support this or not. > For Snowglobe rocks, it would be great to have it also working on > OpenSim. > > :) > Armin > _______________________________________________ > Policies and (un)subscribe information available here: > http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SLDev > Please read the policies before posting to keep unmoderated posting privileges > _______________________________________________ Policies and (un)subscribe information available here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SLDev Please read the policies before posting to keep unmoderated posting privileges
