Well, Rob used to say that it was OK to carefully document the protocols on the wiki. And no-one ever complained when I put the sample python code on the wiki under the common cause license, so while maybe certain developers can't look at the official GPL code directly for some reason, but there should be no reason why Snowglobe contributors can't provide well documented sample code for their paranoid brethren...
