I do not quite understand why you use interceptors here. Why don't you just augment AbstractStore/ExtendedStore to call the configured IndexStore as well? This would be in storeObject, commit, etc.
Correct - I'm stupid :-) Certainly, one bad reason was to avoid some modification in the core classes but anyway it is required.
Still thinking of a way to store your proposal in the proposals section in the CVS. The problem is the changed core classes, but there is no way not to change them I guess... Maybe we can discuss your proposal a bit more without checking anything in, see what Martin can do and finally take it over into the core classes directly. This would require we have created a branch for the 2.0 release cycle before. If everything goes well I will create it next week or the week after that...
Does this sound reasonable?
