Anyway, may I conclude that at least the 5.0 Tomcat bundle distribution as tar.gz and zip seem to be packed and uploaded correctly?
Could anyone check the client as well?
Thanks,
Oliver

It doesn't seem that was the problem, I've managed to get it working but am still seeing these error messages.
Strange thing is that after the first try I downloaded the .tar.gz distro and received a different error. A SAXException for a xml file in the projector repository. Indeed I could see some files in the repository were not well formed xml. Perhaps something went wrong during importing of the data. Then I unzipped the distribution a third time and went through the bootstrap sequence again and all of a sudden it worked ..

Hi Unico,
Hmmm, perhaps it has something to do with your preferred locale? Can you select en or de as preferred locale in your browser settings and restart the browser (to get a new session) and try again?
I'll try to reproduce it here on my machine...

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I tried it but I got this exception:

org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.process(ProcessorManager.java:241) org.apache.slide.projector.value.AnyValue.load(AnyValue.java:84) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.prepareValue(ProcessorManager.java:259) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.prepareValues(ProcessorManager.java:251) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.process(ProcessorManager.java:187) org.apache.slide.projector.processor.process.Process.process(Process.java:180) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.process(ProcessorManager.java:188) org.apache.slide.projector.processor.process.Process.process(Process.java:180) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessorManager.process(ProcessorManager.java:188) org.apache.slide.projector.engine.ProcessServlet.service(ProcessServlet.java:77) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:853)
And on the console a lot of these:
10-aug-2004 14:27:50 org.apache.slide.projector.i18n.MessageManager findMessage
SEVERE: No message found for id=uncastableArrayValue locale=nl_NL
Any idea? I downloaded the jakarta-slide-2.1b1-tomcat-5.0.19.zip

Hi all!
I've checked the jakarta-slide-2.1b1-tomcat-5.0.19.tar.gz <http://cvs.apache.org/dist/jakarta/slide/2.1b1/bin/jakarta-slide-2.1b1-tomcat-5.0.19.tar.gz> bundle and it worked smoothly out of the box!
You can run the Projector admin application by requesting the following URL after startup:
http://localhost:8080/projector/listUsers.html
First request takes some time as Projector will start up...

Daniel

Folks I have uploaded the 2.1b1 distributions to
http://cvs.apache.org/dist/jakarta/slide/2.1b1/
Could someone check if they are ok, i.e. if they can be downloaded and unpacked and seem to be reasonable, before I send the announce message.
Thanks,
Oliver
