I would say it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for 
something like the FrontPage server extensions, then you can use the integrated 
WebDAV support in Tomcat 4.0, which is enough to enable basic remove authoring. 
It's based on a lot of code from the Slide WebDAV servlet, but it's simpler to 
deploy / confgure / use. Feature wise, it supports WebDAV level 2 only, except 
setting arbitrary dead properties (which is an optional part of the 
specification).
