Yes, I've seen a similar problem when trying to make Slide work in a japanese locale with MS webfolders. There were encoding problems and the folder names got garbled, probably containing those characters. Then I saw this infinite folder problem. Worst, when I tried to delete the problem folder (which was located in some subfolder under /files), it deleted it everything from the root and up, effectively deleting ALL the data. I haven't checked this with 2.0rc1 so I don't know if the problem is still there. I noticed with a pre 2.0b1 version of the 2.0 branch.
