Hello Claire, Did you check the second link? It almost explains the same bug you described. The difference is that you didnt said that in one of the parent folders, the user did not had read privileges.
The bug is just that: if in any part of a folder parent tree, a user does not have read priv, from that point down in the folder tree, the user will not be able to create any new file or folder. I dont know when the bug will be corrected, and not seeing progress on it for some long time now. I already tried to correct it, but due to lack of time and hard time to figure out a solution that wouldn't break any other thing in Slide code, the bug still runs wild.
