Okay, I hope I am the first one to review this show...
All of the first four bands played well, but I'll leave them in case
anyone else wants to cover them.

Then came Sloan...

Sloan played a really good set, playing a wide variety of songs. The sound
at the St. Dennis centre was okay...I have heard better and I have heard
worse. Energy-wise they were shy at first, but then they found their
niche and rawked the house silly :). Actually, Jay told us earlier that
he was a little bit nervous about the whole thing before the show. As
far as I can remember, this is what they played (in this exact order :)

Torn (I can't believe that they opened w/ this!), 500-up, I hate my
Generation, Before I do, Penpals, Same Old Flame,
I am the Cancer, Stood up, Coax me, Amped, Snowsuit sound, Laying Blame,
Bells on, worried now, pretty voice, & lastly Underwhelmed.

When they came out for an encore, they had to discuss what they were
going to play :) Then they asked the crowd what they wanted to hear ,
and then they played TH's 25 all-right. It was freakin' wicked...I was
screaming!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they played their famous extended version of
People of the sky ;) and lastly they played Take it in (to appease a
screaming crowd). I tried to tape the show, but upon listening to it I
discovered that all I could hear was the screaming of this crazy groupie
girl who was standing next to me for the show. I also got my much
anticipated "validation" when criss publicly called me a nerd for whereing
my Sloan Net shirt and knowing all the words to "Amped" ;) The only bad
thing about the show was the stupid f**king security(?) who were acting
like children. They kept standing up and getting in the way, and it was
only to try and pull kids out of the crowd who were surfing. Normally
this wouldn't be so bad, but they were making a game out of it and
started pulling people out who didn't want to come out. They ripped this
one kids shirt off, and then paraded it around like it was a trophy.
Criss really let one of them have it, calling him a pre-maturely bald
something or other (I can't remember). My friend Tony went over the fence
and tried to run up on stage, but was dragged down by security. We were
all rooting for him though :)

All in all though, it was just absolutely wonderful that I got to see
Sloan play one last time........again ;)

Anyway, I'm signing off now because I have to learn to be less of a
"Nerd" ;)

Take care all....

Warren
