I have built and run Slony-I 1.2.0 PRE-2 with good success with:
OS: AIX 5.3
Hardware: PowerPC
PostgreSQL: 8.1.3
PostgreSQL configured thus:

'--with-includes=/opt/dbs/tcl-8.4.12-64bit/include:/opt/freeware/include'
'--with-tclconfig=/opt/dbs/tcl-8.4.12-64bit/lib' '--without-readline' 'CC=gcc
-maix64' 'LDFLAGS=-Wl,-bbigtoc'
Tests run:
New Generation tests, all run successfully:
- test1
- testddl
- testschemanames
- testseqnames
- testtabnames
- testutf8
