Just a small follow up. I have modified the launch_clusters.sh script in my sandbox to be:
FINDIT=`ps -p $SLONPID -wwo command= | grep slon` Not sure how universal this change is. It seems to do the right thing on SUSE Linux 10.1 and Mac OS X 10.4.8.
