OK, I should have said that the deletion is done in reasonably sized chunks so that each deletion transaction doesn't take ages. Maybe this is why slony was up to the task, even if the delete statement ratio from master to slave would be between 1...10K. So then no, I don't have a scenario where I would delete millions of rows in one statement and slony would have to replicate that to millions of single statements... that would kill the master too...
